BIO

Since my early teens, I have been photographing the world around me. I truly became entranced by the process while studying and traveling overseas; first in Japan and Southeast Asia, and later in Europe. The daily atmosphere of fascinating new people and places made my camera a visual recorder, beckoning me to see things in a new light.

A few years later I became enamored by digital imaging. Suddenly, I was able to transform my photos into something quite new and different, and print them on a wide array of fine-art materials.

My career as a commercial photographer in New York City and as an instructor at the International Center of Photography further enhanced my vision and encouraged me to undertake new bodies of work. These include New York City street photography, selectively toned portraits, and flowers in many different environments.

I am Editorial Director at Digital Imaging Techniques magazine, a bi-monthly color magazine which reaches 25,000 professional photographers, illustrators, art directors and others in the graphic arts fields.
